Complaint about a California polygraph examiner: "He said we would get a longer test if we paid him more than others were charging. We were tricked-- all he did was waste almost 30 minutes by quoting from a book about polygraph".

All per client:

An examiner who was charging double what other price quotes were told us by phone he does a longer test and does a more thorough polygraph test. We could not afford it but he convinced us it would be more testing than others provide.

On arrival he said the same thing. We gave him the three questions we had written for the test.

He then talked for a half hour about the ancient history of polygraph. He talked about the ancient Chinese, and about the ancient Indians. He talked about how polygraph came from Wonder Woman. He told us about businesses that use it and how it is not allowed for most employment hirings. Most of it was not relevant to the testing of this century or about our relationship. He kept reading from a book.

Then he did the actual testing: simply three 10-question testings, as the other examiners we got price quotes from said to expect.

It is very clear that his reading to us from the book was a trick to make it take longer. We could have cut the price in half by choosing another, one that didn't need to artificially make the visit take longer.
