Complaint about a California polygraph examiner: he charged $400 and gave useless results of 'No Opinion'. Then said he had to leave without doing another chart because he said he was a police officer and had to get to work; research showed different information than that . . .

Details as per Complainant:
Client, a young woman, has a husband who has been incarcerated for 5 years. He got 'the feeling' that his wife might have contact with other guy(s) in his prison, so she offered to take a polygraph test.
She went to the test with her mother-in-law. When done, Examiner reportedly said that (instead of issuing a 'Pass' or a 'Fail') he was issuing the score of 'No Opinion' specifically because her "breathing was shallow".
As Client claimed to have never had ANY contact with any other inmate, she was in disbelief that she didn't easily 'Pass'. She said that he said he couldn't administer another chart because he said he was a police officer and had to get to work. She and her mother-in-law left very upset.
As the examiner's polygraph website told that Examiner was a RETIRED officer from a small municipal police department, they now felt double-lied to. Further research revealed that Examiner has other social media format that says he is a polygraph examiner at a different law enforcement agency.
Client and mother-in-law went to another polygraph examiner, one that was not 'rushed' and had far more experience than the 'No Opinion' examiner. They did NOT tell this Examiner about the prior test. Client easily scored No Deception Indicated (a 'Pass') on multiple charts. Then, as a 4-page report was was being written, the details of the bad testing was shared.
Note: breathing sensitivity is easily adjustable on a modern computerized instrument. As some shirt material or layers of clothing can dampen breathing reactions and make them shallow, there is an on-screen adjustment to instantly adjust for it.

Complaint about a California polygraph examiner: his attempt to badmouth lower-priced competitors actually drove the caller away-- to a lower-price competitor who was far more experienced!

Client telephoned an examiner who was advertising polygraph services. Client was OK with the quoted $350 price and was ready to schedule. But then the examiner told her that he was "more accurate than anyone charging less". That perked Client's interest, and she then contacted other examiners. She ended up choosing a more-experienced examiner who was half of the original quote price, and was very satisfied with the testing results.
Worse, the examiner who had badmouthed anyone charging less than him: he already had several complaints from clients in the past year.

With more complaints than all other California examiners combined, including being arrested at a client's home, we now see her using a 'different' personal name-- but the complaints are the same.

What is the difference between PEOA and all the other polygraph networks/associations/groups/clubs?
What is the difference between PEOA and all the other polygraph networks/associations/groups/clubs?
PEOA (Polygraph Examiners Of America, peoa.us) focuses solely on one part of the lie-detection profession: the BUSINESS of polygraph.
There are other polygraph entities that do well for examiners with research, socializing and other topics; there are also polygraph entities with little or no value.
PEOA has more than 300 polygraph webpages bringing in polygraph test requests for its members.
PEOA analyzes data from callers which produced accurate information that helps examiners to improve their business model.
PEOA accepts complaints about polygraph examiners rather than 'burying' them as some entities do, using the complaints as education tools.
PEOA has no membership fee.
PEOA has higher membership requirements.
PEOA will not include members who badmouth other polygraph examiners.
Improving the business of polygraph examiners is the core mission of PEOA.

One evening, a woman wanted to prove to her boyfriend that she hadn't cheated on him.
Her first choice of examiner (after much research) would not return to his office for this after-hours testing request as the woman had not shown up for a previously requested appointment. So the couple went to Google. One examiner agreed to test for his regular $350 PLUS an additional $150 as a 'rush fee'.
Couple arrived, were surprised that it was not his own office as expected but was a room in a rent-when-you-need-it situation. The testing was done, and the examiner said that she failed on all of the questions. However, this included 'failing' on a question they had secretly planted that both of the couple knew the true answer to was how she answered. $500 wasted.
Next day, they made an appointment during regular business hours with their original first choice of examiner, who was far more experienced. They did not tell Examiner about 'failing' the night before, and they provided the same set of questions. Examiner gave the proper scores at end of testing, the couple left happy.
