"I was recently polygraph tested. Why was it different than the ones we see on YouTube?" (Guest answer)

1. Real polygraph tests are done in private.

2. Real polygraph tests follow a certain pattern.

3. Real polygraph tests require Yes or No answers only.

4. Real polygraph tests require NO moving other than the mouth.

5. YouTube or televised tests are usually:
--for entertainment
--or are re-creations
--or are scripted

6. Real polygraph testing requires far more time to complete than the rush-schedule of filmmakers.

7. Filmed polygraphs often use antique 'analogs' (a roll of chart paper with 4 moving pens). Real polygraph exams have been done on computerized instruments since the mid-90s.

As I have been involved in about 1000 TV or other media polygraph situations, and have earned the title "Most Televised Polygraph Examiner", I can assure you that most televised tests are as listed above.

Respectfully.
